Are You At Risk For Type 2 Diabetes?

There has been a lot of research done over recent years about the causes of type 2 diabetes. For example, doctors now realize more than ever before that type 2 diabetes is prevalent in the bloodline of families. It is very common for a person that has type 2 diabetes to find out that one or more of his relatives also had the disease. Therefore, type 2 diabetes has been labeled as an illness that is genetic.

Insulin Resistance: The Major Factor In Type 2 Diabetes

While people with type 1 diabetes do not have enough insulin running through their bodies, those with type 2 diabetes actually have plenty of insulin. The problem is that they just do not respond to insulin in the normal ways a healthy person would. In other words, people with type 2 diabetes are what is called “insulin resistant”.

Using Garlic Tablets To Prevent High Blood Pressure

According to the experts, kyolic garlic, aged garlic pressed into tablets and sold in health-food stores, works as well as garlic. At the first international meeting on garlic, papers were presented to show that aged, kyolic garlic has the same properties as fresh, raw garlic bulbs. There are many garlic tablets sold under many names; some are quite expensive. Because there are no clinical studies on this aspect of garlic tablets, the only advice is to try them and see. However, you should always focus on fresh garlic.

Garlic Do’s & Don’ts:

Do:
* Add a clove of garlic to each serving of soup.
* Add a clove of garlic to a garden salad.
* Add a clove of garlic to each serving of fish, roast, or fowl.
* Add a half clove of garlic to each serving of spaghetti sauce.

Turbulence Training - 3 Tips for More Energy

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
Visit Turbulence Training

Last summer I trained a Hollywood starlet who was in Toronto to film a movie. She was a model Turbulence Training client, doing everything I asked in each session including her first-ever
chin-up, except for the Sugar-free Red Bull she insisted on having before each workout.

She said she needed the energy.

Everywhere you go people are looking for ‘energy’. Have you been seduced by the ads promising “such and such” beverage will “give you wings”, or by stores offering sky-high cups of coffee. Where do you go for your fix? And is it really a fix at all? Or just a patch that leads to an inevitable crash and burn?
